Cioppino has 7 different
types of seafood in it:
Dungeness Crab, Prawns, Calamari, Mussels, Scallops,
Clams, and Fish.
It all started in 1988 when Phil started demonstrations
for cooking fish and
cioppino when one day someone came in and said that
they were going to
a dinner party. The man put $100 down on the counter
for a pot and all the
Cioppino that could fit in it. After that Phil decided
to expand his fish market
to include an eatery too!
Phil's Cioppino has become so famous that, Friends
of Legal Services for Seniors
has asked Phil to come and donate his time to cooking
Cioppino at their annual
Ciao! Cioppino! dinner and auction for over 4 years
now. Phil and his kitchen
crew make cioppino for over 350 people at the event
each year!
Here
are pictures from the 4th Annual Ciao! Cioppino!
