What you will need to
make Phil's Fabulous New England Clam Chowder:
8oz. of Whole Milk
8oz. of Half & Half (or Heavy Whipping Cream)
Clam Juice (optional)
2 Pots
How to prepare Phil's
chowder:
Pour the chowder base
into pot and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour milk and cream
into second pot and let slowly heat for 2-3 minutes,
do not bring to a boil. Slowly
add heated milk and cream to chowder base, stirring
constantly, until chowder
reaches desired consistency. Add a touch of clam juice
if desired. Turn off heat.
Chowder maybe served in heated sourdough bread bowls.

How to store leftovers:
Any leftover chowder should be allowed to cool before
placing in the refrigerator.

Want to make Manhattan
Clam Chowder?
Simple, just add 1 small can (12oz.) of Tomato Soup
concentrate instead of Milk
and Cream. Then fill can with clam juice and pour
in with tomato soup concentrate.
